How to Convert Acre to Square Yards.

Rosemary Njeri

The acre is a statute measure in the U.S., in the U.K. and in almost all countries of the former British Empire and is mostly used to measure the area of land.

A square yard(sq.yd) is a unit of area measurement equal to a square measuring one yard on each side.

Formula to convert acre to square yards.

The relationship between an acre and square yards is that 1 acre is equal to 4840 sq.yd.

Therefore, to convert acres to sq.yd, we divide the area in acres by 4,840.

Area in sq.yd = Area in Acre x 4,840

Example:

Convert 50 acre to sq.yd.

= 50 x 4,840

= 242,000 sq.yd
