How to Convert Square Yard to Acre.

Rosemary Njeri

The acre is a statute measure in the U.S., in the U.K. and in almost all countries of the former British Empire and is mostly used to measure the area of land.

A square yard(sq.yd) is a unit of area measurement equal to a square measuring one yard on each side.

Formula to convert sq.yd to acre.

The relationship between the sq.yd and the acre is that 1 sq.yd is equal to 0.000206612 acres.

Therefore, to convert sq.yd to acre, we multiply the area in yards by 0.000206612.

Area in Acres = Area in sq.yd x 0.000206612

Example:

Convert 62,500 square yards to acres.

= 62,500 x 0.000206612

= 13 acres.
