Example 1:

Calculate the height of a cylinder whose volume is 30 cm³ and its radius is 5cm.

Therefore, the height of the cylinder is 0.38cm.

Example 2:

Suppose you are know the radius of your circular pool to be 49m, if the volume is 23,716m. What is the height of your pool?

Height = Volume ÷ ( π x radius2 )

= 23,716 ÷ ( 22/7 x 49 x 49)

Therefore, the height of your pool is 3.1 meters.

Example 3:

A canned food container has a volume of 400cm3 if its radius is 5cm, calculate the height of the container.

Height = Volume ÷ ( π x radius2 )

= 400 ÷ ( 3.142 x 5 x 5 )

= 5.09 cm

Example 4:

Find the height of a cylinder whose volume is 1,540m, if its radius is 7m.

Height = Volume ÷ ( π x radius2 )

= 1,540 ÷ (22/7 x 7 x 7)

Hence, the height of the cylinder is 10meters.
