A cylinder is a three-dimensional solid that has two parallel bases that are usually circular and are connected by a curved surface.

The surface area of a cylinder is calculated by finding the sum of the area of its circular bases and the area of the curved surface.

r – is the radius of the circular bases as well as the cylinder.

h – is the height of the cylinder.

π – is a constant estimated to be 3.142

Example:

Find the surface area of this of the figure below whose radius is 7cm and its height is 10cm.
